Wabi has raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation, backing a different idea of personal AI: an assistant that works inside group conversations and builds mini-apps people can actually reuse.
IVP led the round, joined by a16z, Forerunner and Amazon Alexa Fund. Angel backers include Tobi Lütke, Marc Benioff, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo and Alex Pall.
Founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who also created Replika, Wabi lets friends, couples and families bring an AI agent into shared threads. It can create mini-apps for restaurant lists, meal plans, fitness challenges or birthday trivia.
That means a weekend plan doesn't have to disappear in a chat history. The group can return to a living checklist, calendar or tracker, built around what its members need.
a16z previously led Wabi's $20 million pre-seed in 2025. The new money will fund product development and expansion. Wabi is available on iOS, Android and Mac, with Windows planned.
The bigger test is not whether AI can make a mini-app. It's whether people will keep using it together.
