LE PERSPECTIVE / THE STORY

Creandum has raised $750 million for its eighth venture fund, giving the early-stage investor its largest pool of capital yet as AI changes how new technology companies are built.

Called Creandum VIII (CVIII), the fund will back startups from pre-seed through Series A. Creandum expects to make about 30 investments over the next two years, across Europe and the United States.

A Bigger Fund, Same Entry Point
Creandum is keeping its focus on founders at the earliest stages, rather than moving toward later-stage deals. The larger fund gives it more room to back teams before a market has obvious winners.

The new vehicle follows Creandum VII, a €500 million fund closed in 2024. About 30 institutional investors from Europe and the US have committed capital to the latest fund.

Creandum was an early investor in Spotify and Klarna. More recent bets include AI coding startup Lovable and image-generation company Black Forest Labs, both part of a portfolio extending beyond AI.

Creandum is remaining a generalist investor, even as AI creates openings in software, infrastructure and other markets. Its teams work from Stockholm, London, Berlin and San Francisco, connecting founders on both sides of the Atlantic.

The bet is that the next generation of major technology companies is being formed now, before anyone knows which products will define it.
